Having spoken to Karl, and seen the results on the web, I have to congratulate everyone involved for a thoroughly successful event.
The winning finish times were exactly where the USOF guidelines suggest they should be for each course.
And there were virtually no DNF's.
"Too easy" you say?
Ehhhh. That's OK for a change. I like to see winning times right on the money.
Congratulations to to Chris Johnson for a great time on Red course of about 10 minute/km, and I especially like the cluster of Red course finishers in the 80 to 100 minute range. Good competition.
Huge thanks go to Karl Armond for setting controls and acting as initial EC. Added Thanks go to Jonathan Hendrix for stepping up to handle the onrush at registration at the 10:00 o'clock window, followed by Ray Bruneau, Mike Dempsey and Jerry Sirmans who handled registration and Finish later on. Thanks also go to Jonathan Linforth who personally delivered the maps to Karl's house. Thank you all, even if I failed to name you here.
Ah. Next month; Good news. I just heard that the John Deere training school has completed their work at Rock Springs Reserve so the fields, including our parking area at the Horse Barn, are all freshly mown. No head-high Dog Fennel to cope with. You'll love it. Will Pirnasch is designing the courses and doubtless will also set controls as is his habit (stand by for help requests just in case) but we do still need an official EC. It's fun and easy to do ... why not volunteer!.
Thanks again to all concerned for the Great Moss Park Event. Be proud of yourselves!!!
